There Are Some Things Money Can't Buy...

While my husband SLEEPS in the chair next to me and the basketball game that he HAD to watch plays out on the TV I guess I will blog. I didn't have to work yesterday so I went to work with Chase instead. We left home at six and headed out to the horse barn. Chase trains race horses and before they run every day they have to be put on this jogger thing.... um let me try to find a picture... Ok this is exactly what it looks like. I found this picture on google.... anyway they have to jog on one of these things. For about a half hour. But if they start slacking off it's not good so someone has to be in charge of shooting them with a bb gun. That was me. Most the time I just would yell at them like "hey!" "walk guy!" and things like that. But there was one that made me angry because he was a big slacker so I threatened him a time or two. They are not fans of the gun. I mostly just shot the ground though. The whole time they were jogging on this thing I was thinking of how it would be kind of nice if I was forced to excersise like these guys are. They don't have the little voice in their head saying... oh it's ok if you don't excersise today... They just have the guys that make them do it. Sometimes I wish someone else was in charge of my motivation. So anyway then Chase had to work them out by running them on the track. Which is really fun to watch but not so much for five hours so I went to Grandma Marshall's and read the newspaper.

After running horses it was time to change the sprinklers in the fields. They're big sprinklers... like those ones you see from the freeway in the big fields. I'm finding pictures of all of these things for you. We had to ride around to all of these and move them all to their new spots and then hook them back up. We do this on a motorcycle. It's fun stuff!! I really do love riding around on it from field to field. I wanted to learn how to drive it though. So while Chase was busy doing his work I decided to learn how to work the little guy. After a couple of mishaps I finally got it started and almost got it going before I ran right into one of those pipes that you can see on that sprinkler picture. I bruised my knee up pretty good but I didn't hurt anything else. I kept on keepin on though and I think I mastered the motorcycle driving.

We finally finished all of the chores and so it was off to the hills with us. Chase has been wanting to go fishing up at his favorite spot for a long time so last night seemed like the perfect time to do it. We got up to the lake and Chase taught me how to cast my line out and we started fishing. Holy fish!!! We caught so many of them! It was so much fun. They were rainbow trouts and they were the first fish I have ever caught. This is pretty much exactly what they looked like. I had a hard time wanting to touch them though. I would do a "fish dance", as chase called it, everytime I caught one and he would have to come take it off the hook for me. I did touch a couple of them though. And one of them came off the hook and landed in the bushes and I had to kind of pick it up and put it back in the pond. Fish really are pretty creepy looking. Chase started a fire and we roasted up some hot dogs for dinner. Chase wanted to go looking for deer so we left the lake and started driving around. I haven't ever really gone out scouting for deer but I ended up really liking it. My favorite part is when we actually would find some to look at... suprise suprise. He brought some binos and so I would like to look at them up close. He taught me the difference between all the different kinds of deer like animals. We saw lots of pregnant cow elk. They all looked like they were about to pop. I felt bad for them. We made it home close to eleven. And can I just tell you that from six to eleven is a very long day. We were exhausted. But I think it was way worth it. Deffenitly a memorable day.
